Bring with you5 printed copiesof your full development package
Deck vs. package. Your slides tell the story and show the key numbers in 10 minutes. Every supporting detail, from full budgets to comps, bids and letters, goes in the printed development package.

Template rules every team follows

  1. Use the cover, the 12 content slides and the closing slide, in the same order with the same titles.
  2. Replace every gray bracketed placeholder with your own content. Delete any placeholder you do not use.
  3. One slide per section. Put extra charts or detail in an appendix after the closing slide; it will not be presented.
  4. Brand it your way with your own colors, fonts and logo. Keep the layout, slide order, titles and content blocks. No text under 24 point.
  5. Every number on a slide must match your development package exactly. Date and cite every market figure.
  6. Label status honestly: Secured, In progress or Needed. Never present a commitment you do not have.

Slide by slide: your 10-minute run of show

Rehearse to 9:30 to leave a cushion. Assign a speaker to each slide and practice the handoffs.

What the judges look for

Strengths

  • A real site and a clear product
  • A buyer who can afford the home
  • Numbers that tie out across deck and package
  • A confident, coordinated team

Challenges

  • Gaps in cost, approvals or market evidence
  • Unrealistic timelines or prices
  • Funding that is assumed, not sourced

Recommendations

  • Judges will suggest next steps
  • Show what technical help you need
  • Ask them questions on slide 12

Each judge completes a feedback form on your project’s strengths, challenges and recommendations. Build your pitch so those answers are easy to write.

Case Study1010 Joseph Place

Everything for the case your team works on all week: the casebook, the exhibits, and the interactive tools preloaded with Gabe Franceschi's Joseph Place numbers.

Step 1 · Read

The casebook

Follow Gabe from opportunity to closing: market, site, team, budget, financing, construction and sale.

32 pages, under 1 MB. Opens instantly on your phone.

Exhibits

All exhibits are also in the full casebook with all exhibits (large file, use Wi-Fi). Fillable exhibits (F and G) calculate in Adobe Acrobat Reader: tap the exhibit, then "Open in new tab" to download.

Step 2 · Work the numbers

Use the tools in order. Each one is preloaded with the casebook figures and passes its results to the next, so you enter each number once. Your work saves in your browser.

Step 3 · Pull it together

Feasibility Summary

One printable report of all the tools: market support, budget, profitability, sources & uses, capital stack, financing gap, homebuyer affordability, and the risks still open. Use it for your Development Package and pitch.
